Last week we were at Gamescom in Cologne.

Our team at Gamescom has consisted of our Co-Founder Yasin, Business Development Manager Tansu and Project Manager Firat.

Gamescom was a great and giant meet-up for the games industry after a very long pandemic period.

We had tons of meetings in the B2B area with some of the pioneer publishers and investors of the game industry. We have also showcased a gameplay video during our presentations for the first time. We’ve received very nice feedback.

We are hoping to announce some big news soon. Stay tuned!

White Nights’22 Istanbul was held on 7-8 June 2022 at Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center. As SuperGears, we took our part in the event where local studios met with many foreign publishers, investors and service providers.

The event was very busy for SuperGears, we had the opportunity to meet and hold meetings with many actors from different areas of the game industry. The interest people showed in SuperGears and Racing Kingdom has boosted our ambition for the project.

Our Business Development Associate, Tansu Kendirli, took part as a speaker in sessions on various topics on both days of the event.

We would like to thank the WN Media Group, the event partner OYUNDER, and all the contributors, who have helped this event which supports the Turkish gaming industry to go global to be organized. As SuperGears, we are happy to announce that we will continue to participate in such events.

We are excited to announce that one of our co-founders, Yasin Demirden, will be representing us at the esteemed EURITECH conference organized by the Architects and Engineers Group this year. He will delve into the topic “Why Are Our Unicorns Exiting the Gaming Industry”, exploring the current trends in the gaming sector and the trajectory of unicorns within this landscape.

We anticipate his presentation to be a valuable resource for professionals and investors in the gaming industry, offering pivotal insights into what lies ahead for the sector. We are proud of his involvement and look forward to the dialogue he will foster at the event.

We are here with a brand new video series! In this series, our founders Yasin and Yakup Demirden will be sharing their memories of more than 20 years of experience in the Turkish game industry. Of course, we have reserved the first part of this series, which will be in a conversational mood, for Kabus (Nightmare) 22, which still has many questions and comments, even after more than 15 years!

Our founders talk about why they started such a large-scale project in their very first years in the industry, why they chose the horror genre, and which productions they were inspired by. Years later, the question of why the game’s name is Kabus (Nightmare) “22” is enlightened in the conversation, which also includes memories about the development process that have not been told before.

In the following parts of our Time Machine series, we will also be hosting many different veteran names of the Turkish gaming industry, while also talking about other projects and other memories. We believe that the series will attract a lot of attention from Turkish gaming ecosystem.

Enjoy!

TUYAP Fair & Congress Center Istanbul hosted the Digital Game Fair, “GameX” on May 19-22. GameX has been going on for many years but could not meet with the gamers for 2 years due to the pandemic. In this year’s GameX there was also the B2B part for the first time. As SuperGears, we took our place among the B2B participants of the fair.

Our Project Manager Fırat Baban and Game Designer Mete Almali gave a presentation on “Product Management and Game Design on Large Scoped Projects” in the second day of the fair. In their speech, subjects as what are large scoped game projects with a couple of examples, which branches are involved and tips on development processes were the main topics. With including different branches on game development, the presentation mainly proceeded from the perspectives of project & product management and game design. Our teammates have also shared their own experiences and some examples from Racing Kingdom’s development process.

SuperGears Business Manager Tansu Kendirli participated in a panel discussion on “New trends, programs and finance in the gaming industry” on the 2nd day of the fair, and also another panel discussion on “A very fast growing community: Blockchain Game Developers in Turkey” on the 3rd day of the fair.

We enjoyed taking part in GameX, which brought the game industry together physically after a very long time. We will continue to share our knowledge and experience by making an effort to take part in all game events that will be held in Turkey!

SuperGears Co-Founder Yasin Demirden has talked with the students of the Turkish Game Developers School (TOGO) in an online chat.

The general flow of the conversation consisted of which projects Demirden Brothers have been working on since their first game development attempts in 2002, their professional life in general terms, the new goals they set with SuperGears and what they are doing now. An important part of the conversation consisted of subjects such as the career opportunities in the game industry, the features sought in these roles and how newcomers can improve themselves on these career paths and the need for qualified game developers in these roles in the industry. Yasin Demirden also answered questions from the audience during the conversation.
